Delsin is proud to present this "Best Of Ambient"-compilation by one of their all-time electronic music heroes John Beltran. 16 tracks presented on triple vinyl and cd, including 'Collage Of Dreams' as featured on HBO's Six Feet Under series and other material from his sought after albums originally released on Peacefrog and R&S and more. With extensive liner notes from the artist himself.
Michigan techno producer and ambient composer John Beltran is to release a handpicked compilation of Ambient Selections 1995–2011 in summer of this year.
John's musical journey began in the early 90s. Back then, his sound was a jazz influenced take on techno and was one instantly appreciated by future Detroit legend Carl Craig. So moved was Craig that he saw fit to sign him to his first label, Retroactive, and in doing so launched Beltran to the wider world. As such, there followed full length releases on the recently revived R&S in 1995 and revered UK label Peacefrog in 1996.
One of the tracks from that album ('Collage of Dreams,' included on this compilation) was later licensed by HBO for the TV series Six Feet Under, and its more ambient style became one with which John felt most comfortable in the ensuing years. With following albums like Americano (Exceptional Records, 2002) and In Full Color (Ubiquity Records, 2004) though, he returned to the techno aesthetic and toured the world for the early part of this century playing clubs and producing club hits on a regular basis.
But alas, tired of late nights and endless travelling, he returned to ambient music. This time round, his influences were Sigur Ros, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Jon Brion, Radiohead and Squarepusher in place of the more jazzy, Latin and organic influences which had informed his sounds before. And so it is that John has such an illustrious back catalogue of compositions on which to call for this ambient anthology.
Says John of the compilation…
"I have personally selected these songs from eight of my albums which span 16 years, though the compilation also includes two brand new, unreleased compositions, "Expecting" and "Miss Weird". I believe all of these songs have, and will continue to, stand the test of time because, in my humble opinion, they are my best ambient works. I have always felt I have had the most unique, loyal fans in the world, so this compilation is dedicated to them, from me, with love."

don't understand the title, beautiful music however
perfect lay-out,nice to have even if you have all the originals (except two songs,MONEY says;allways have a couple of unreleased songs on a compilation so the fans will certainly buy it...including me...I would have bought it anyway :-) )
