After his most considered, conceptual and cerebral deep house and techno full length on Delsin recently, Dutchman Conforce returns with a new four tracker on the revered Clone Basement series. It sees the producer stretch his legs somewhat, stepping outside his usual sound to craft four sharpened dancefloor weapons that have little in common, but which certainly get you dancing.
Opener 'Grain' is tough and tumultuous, with heavy kick stabs, shooting synths and bell sounds and a generally rather intense air to it. 'Be There At Night' also has plenty of flailing lines and squelchy sounds at its jacked up techno core, before '24' – inspired by all night partying – pairs sweeping, scraping synths with a dubbier undercurrent and nice hi-hat slices.
The final offering is a remix of '24' from Gesloten Cirkel that goes slower and is more sensuous than the original. A typically nice package from both Clone and Conforce, then…
