on Herva - What I Feel EP
at 12:10PM on March 17th, 2013
If Actress is a bit too way out for you nowadays but you like the look of his space suit, then Herva is your man. What a treat, this ep.
on Ike Release - Dream Sequencer EP
at 11:38AM on March 17th, 2013
Ik las Westvliet, maar dat kunnen m'n Voorburgse roots zijn. Dikste track van de drie. Cosmic Supreme lijkt gemastered op cassette.
on R-Zone - R-Zone 01
at 11:36AM on March 17th, 2013
Kevin Saundersons little nephew? Lovely old school sounds
on Bleak - Origins Of Chaos
at 11:33AM on March 17th, 2013
Muziek voor galmende betonnen ruimtes die naar zweet stinken. Heerlijk.
on John Beltran - Amazing Things
at 11:32AM on March 17th, 2013
Have been playing this a lot lately. Perfect soundtrack for a trainride over snow covered farm lands in Groningen. Some tracks are too sweet for my taste but most is beyond beauty.
on Mystica Tribe - Flowers
at 11:30AM on March 17th, 2013
Sweet broken beat electronics versus dubbed out melodica's. Fractale is my favorite.
on Makam & Roch Dadier - Lost Archives - Part II
at 11:27AM on March 17th, 2013
Hoor die Guy eens lekker jacken. My favorite of the two.
on Ksoul & Muteoscillator - Aphrology EP
at 12:10AM on October 6th, 2012
I love the second melody luring in the back, trying to crall on top of things. And succeeding. Clever track, Part 1.
That shit's fast bro! Maar wel dikker dan de bovenarm van mijn tennisleraar. Damn.
on Seawash - Pantomime EP
at 11:54AM on October 5th, 2012
Verrassend!
on D'Marc Cantu - A New World
at 10:02AM on July 25th, 2012
Wat een baas, die Cantu. Raw, relentless and very pure house music. Try Me is ziek. Green Bike Set doet me erg denken aan Severed Heads’ klassieker Dead Eyes Opened. And that's not a bad thing! :)
on Trevor Deep Jr - Keep On!
at 11:04PM on June 8th, 2012
haha, good to hear a DTrain classic in the rebound. It's treated with respect, and it's damn funky too.
on Delta Funktionen - Traces
at 11:00PM on June 8th, 2012
What a great mixed bag of goodies. I'm glad Niels didn't choose to make a full on techno record. This is so much more satisfiying. Utopia sounds like the best Eindhoven techno in years. and I love the bold and length of On Distant Journey. Favorite track is the magical Challenger. But that can change when I am in a club next week. Review for DJB.
on Fudge Fingas - Amaranthine Labyrinth EP
at 9:33PM on May 25th, 2012
NTNLNC sounds like Basement Jaxx meets Tom Trago in some unlit aleyway. But Kinski is the one for me. Pure magic.
on Chicago Shags - The Family Album
at 9:29PM on May 25th, 2012
Side A makes my day. I do feel the pulse of Pancake Breakfast. Electronic syrup!
on Claro Intelecto - Reform Club
at 12:34AM on April 4th, 2012
Laag over laag over laag. A good techno lasagna if ever there was one.
on Yør - Modern Slaves Of Contemporary Contexts EP
at 8:24PM on March 1st, 2012
On the verge of a dyslectic breakdown. I choose ABCM as pick of the day. Life isn't a straight line either.
on Sawlin - Techno Dumping
at 7:34PM on March 1st, 2012
I'm not sure if "will download" counts as proper feedback, so here it goes. Favorite track is Neid Auf Vacuum. Datamen Working sounds stale, Boring Feels is rather generic and Techno Dumpling is a good reason to get a drink. One out of four, you can do better.
on MK & The 7th Plain - The MKappella / Lost
at 4:24PM on January 24th, 2012
Good to hear these gems again. We've almost come full circle, with house slowing down in tempo again.
on Claro Intelecto - Second Blood
at 11:16PM on January 17th, 2012
Zo klaar als een klontje. Dik!
on Various Artists - Inertia #4
at 3:00PM on November 3rd, 2011
Rydell dubt m'n ballen er af!
on Various Artists - Inertia #3
at 1:52PM on November 3rd, 2011
Lucy takes no prisoners!
on Yør - Rave EP
at 12:12PM on November 3rd, 2011
Golden Boy does the trick for me.
on Conforce - Escapism
at 12:35AM on October 26th, 2011
Boris does it again. A real album, not just a bunch of tracks.
on - How Are We Doing?
at 11:50AM on September 13th, 2011
More food for smoke machines and strobes. How Are We Doing is my favorite of the two.
on Conforce - Dystopian Elements EP
at 1:38AM on August 28th, 2011
Diep spul uit het noorden. Love Vacuum the most, me thinks.
on Redshape - Son Of A...
at 1:38AM on August 28th, 2011
Kracken's Game is the one for me. I like the mid tempo and big drums. Tough cookie!
on Dcook & Chicago Skyway - Lager EP
at 11:50AM on June 9th, 2011
Keep on twidling those knobs boys. This time machine brings me back to the golden days of smoke machines, smiles and all things good.
on Area Forty_One - Discharging Clouds
at 11:48AM on June 9th, 2011
Perhaps we should play this single to the clouds above to invoke rain. Holland needs it. And I need this.
Kassem always delivers. Great remix.
on John Beltran - Ambient Selections
at 9:46PM on May 21st, 2011
Since I'm too lazy to find all his old singles and albums in my collection, this release comes 'als geroepen'. Great to hear his lush and sophisticated music again. It hasn't aged a bit.
on Redshape - Future Shock
at 1:27PM on November 30th, 2010
I would buy this ep for Manhattan. Close your eyes and you're in a tube crossing the Hudson river.
on Delta Funktionen - Setup Two: Fusion
at 1:22PM on November 30th, 2010
Wow, can I get the artwork in a two by two meter print please?! The other Delta takes no prisoners this time. Where's the light switch?! Ah, don't bother, I like it in the dark.
on Morphosis - WHWL - Remixes Part 1
at 1:19PM on November 30th, 2010
What a great combi. Happy to hear new work from the Aquariummaster, if only for a remix. But what a fantastic job he did.
on 2 AM/FM - Desolate Cities
at 10:24PM on September 28th, 2010
Golden strings are hanging down my living room. And I ain't cleaning up tonight. Give This World is beautiful. The jacking business is less surprising, coming from these two experienced 303 twidlers, but again: quality!
on A Made Up Sound - Rear Window
at 10:18PM on September 28th, 2010
Heard this one out loud last weekend during a certain high brow festival. And boy, did it go down well! Can't wait to hear his first Berlin-based productions!!
on Terrance McDonald - Mind Over Matter
at 6:23PM on September 15th, 2010
Wow, I didn't know he was sixteen when he did this single. Good to have it frontrow again.
on Conforce - Grace EP
at 11:43PM on May 25th, 2010
My favorite producer from the High North is on a roll lately. Everything Boris touches seems to arive in gold plated dub infused boom-boxes. I can't wait to hear Grace on a decent sound system. Them rimshots are making me wanna daaaaaance!
on Delta Funktionen - Setup One: Decorum
at 11:35PM on May 25th, 2010
Fine dj-tools but I wouldn't buy this for home listening to be honest. Perhaps I just have to play it (or hear it) on a decent set. Abundance is my favorite of the four.
on R-A-G - Beyond
at 11:28PM on May 25th, 2010
Sizzeling hihats for the weary techno hearts. Nice! Redsquare and Energy will go down well on sweaty dancefloors but Beyond gives me the most pleasure while at home.
on Dj Yoav B. - Love Dubs
at 12:05AM on March 16th, 2010
Who was playing the keys for Derrick May again, back in the old days? Higher Love smells like vintage Detroit but the groove is from a different timezone. Nice.
on Morphosis - Running Out / Musafir
at 11:50PM on March 15th, 2010
Good to see Morphosis back on on MOS. I love his twisted view on electronic dance music. Running Out is killer and every dj who's bold enough to play this 'Theo Parrish-on-dope' track deserves serious props. Musafir will work wonders too.
on Syrinx - B.D.O. EP
at 11:44PM on March 15th, 2010
Not much new ground here but the quality is high and retro is good. :) Dubsequence is my pick of this threesome.
on Redshape - Red Pack
at 11:37PM on March 15th, 2010
The Lesson has that old hectic Carl Craig-feeling I used to like so much. Drama is best of the bunch with it's ice cold metal stabs and a bass synth that goes deeper than the NY Underground.
on San Proper - Sex Drive Rhythm EP
at 10:42PM on February 15th, 2010
Sex Drive Rhythm is dripping with lust. Coolest track of a strong pack from the Dutch answer to Sleazy D and Blake Baxter.
on Aroy Dee - Tears
at 12:19PM on December 2nd, 2009
Strings baby, strings! Four strong retro feel tracks from the man of melancholy, Aroy Dee. Tears and Soul Sparkle stand out but it's all quality here.
on Delta Funktionen - Silhouette
at 12:16PM on December 2nd, 2009
Strong remix of a track that allready got the crowds moving. Dettmanns version is suited for the Gashouders and Berghains of this world.
on Redshape - The Dance Paradox
at 10:54AM on September 30th, 2009
One of the better techno albums from 2009. Pitch dark with a touch of red in the distance.
on Redshape - Paradox Dubs
at 10:48AM on September 30th, 2009
Major Space Dub sounds like some unreleased Leftfield gem from their golden years. And the strings in Next Door Ultra Dub are killer.
on Newworldaquarium - The Force (Ame Remixes)
at 1:13PM on August 2nd, 2009
on Aroy Dee - The Planets
at 1:11PM on August 2nd, 2009
Divine is back on the dancefloor!! And in full disco modus too. :) The remix has little to do with the original but is decent, energetic techno that will find it's way in dj-bags worldwide.
on Delta Funktionen - Electromagnetic Radiation Part II
at 1:10PM on August 2nd, 2009
Welcome back Friesland! You can hear the fog above the greenfields in the beautiful strings mister Luinenburg makes. This is techno that makes me happy AND wanna dance.
on D5 - Floatation Tank
at 11:42PM on August 1st, 2009
What a great production. I forgot about these two gems, to be honest. I Love how D5 uses the delay Swayzak-stylee on Intruders, with lots of space around the sounds.
on Redshape - 2010 EP
at 10:43PM on June 14th, 2009
I like the dark edge 2010 has. Very freeform beat programming too. Runner up is Violet, with some of the most eerie strings I heard in a long time.
on Newworldaquarium - Trespassers
at 7:55PM on June 14th, 2009
Very subtle version of a track that has been a a favorite in my collection since it came out. I like how the little melody creeps in from behind the beats. A good way to keep us quiet while Mr. Peteri sorts out his new tunes (anything yet?).
on Chicago Skyway - Heavens & Angels EP
at 7:51PM on June 14th, 2009
Nice package! Mix 6 brings me a serious dejavu of old 808 State and Gerald Simpson records. My personal favorite is the Extended version, which sounds like a rawer release on Eevo-Lute, '91 or something.
on Quince - My Life's Rhythm
at 12:02AM on April 8th, 2009
Holy cow! My Life's Rhythm has the kind of intro that makes you wanna leave your cold beer at the bar, stop the conversation with the hot chick you just met and run to the dancefloor. What a monster of a tune! And if all minimal would have the energy Electric has, the genre wouldn't be in jeopardy.
on Legowelt - Slompy Jitt EP
at 11:58PM on April 7th, 2009
Is this guy behind his keyboards all day? But his productivity doesn't seem to affect the sheer quality of his music. On the contrary, this ep is among the best stuff he's done for ages. Melodies all around! Best of the bunch is Police 303. Early 808 State meets Omar S & Theo P on a windy street corner in Chicago.
on Various Artists - Delsin 2.0 Remix EP1
at 9:45PM on March 3rd, 2009
Interesting combination, Redshape vs Peteri. And it works too. I like how he stays close to the original yet inserts some dubby bits and bobs that do the trick. Quince seems to be on top of things too, with his reconstruction. Lots of space, in a Swayzak kinda way. Me likee.
on Various Artists - Delsin 2.0 Remix EP2
at 9:41PM on March 3rd, 2009
You can't go wrong with Shed at the moment, everything he touches is ace. Is this 4/4 dubstep, dubtechno or something else? It's bloody brilliant, that's for sure. Mister Rachmad stays in known territories, but with a bassline like this I don't mind.
on Morphosis - Cetrik EP
at 4:11PM on November 20th, 2008
Cetrik is a welcome sandstorm that will clear the minds of minimal dopeheads the world over. A truly original track that will stand out in any dj-set. I can see the dj potential of Flash but prefer the stripped down raw energy of Round One.
on James Kumo - Kumomusic Vol 2
at 4:05PM on November 20th, 2008
Effective and trippy, this new Kumomonster. Dreams only works in clubs or on a bike with a heartbeat of 170. ;)
on Rolando - Hiatus EP
at 11:22AM on September 24th, 2008
Shuffles like only them Detroitees can make 'em. I'll go for the dub mix though, being a Deepchord fetishist and all. Bring on Rod Modell for the remix twelve. ;)
on Markus Enochson & The Subliminal Kid - Schmuts EP
at 11:16AM on September 24th, 2008
All slow builders that work best in huge concrete warehouses. A small crowd around a pumping soundsystem in the dark corner in the far end. I can see that. BTW:: Whatever happened to Spooky the Subliminal Kid?
on Aroy Dee - Summer EP
at 11:10AM on September 24th, 2008
Sapperdeflap, wat een dikke tracks weer van de Dee. All That Remains is my favorite because it made me wanna play all them old EevoLute records again. Summer Bright is also spot on
on Quince - Expanding / Contracting
at 12:39PM on April 16th, 2008
Contracting is dikke mik! A lesson how trimming can lead to great effect. Somewhere halfway between Carl Craig and Ame but with a very original flow to it. Love it.
on Sterac aka Steve Rachmad - Rond Bot EP
at 10:51AM on March 3rd, 2008
What could I possibly add to all the raving around Rond so far in all the comments? Well, I could add that this track goes down very well on the bike too. While working out with a hearbeat of 170. Love how the strings move beyond the clouds after a few minutes. Rond is the favorite one of the two, though I think when I will be out of my 'stekkertje', Bot will do the trick just nicely too. ;)
on Chymera - Hundulu EP
at 8:56PM on January 14th, 2008
Very nice how Hundulu slowly unfolds it's beauty. When I hear this one on a big soundsystem I wanna run to the dancefloor for sure. The remix is ook erg dik. ;)
on Traxx - Photon / Solara
at 8:52PM on January 14th, 2008
Phat acid that goes on like there is no tomorrow. Really like it's raw production. Old school fingerprints all over on this one.
on Delta Funktionen - Electromagnetic Radiation Part I
at 8:48PM on January 14th, 2008
Estuary wins prices in the category deep & dubby. Quality stuff, that sits next to the Deepchord guys and the recent Huckaby productions. Nebula is nice and does the trick, but holds little surprises for me.
on Newworldaquarium - The Dead Bears
at 8:34PM on January 14th, 2008
Megadik. Dromen met je ogen open. One of the best Dutch dance albums in a long long time.
on Nubian Mindz - Afrika Man EP
at 6:55AM on December 24th, 2007
Techno Love brings finger clicking in techno music to new heights, if you ask me. Where's the tap dancer? Like the dark, full on vibe of Techno Love, but the vocals are too much for me. Afrika Man is more up my sleeve. Lots of cool sounds. :)
on Djinxx - Prohibition EP
at 2:09PM on December 22nd, 2007
That bass synth in Revolver is a killer. And I like the way we slowly but surely are pulled intro Djinxx trip. I like the melancholic mood of The Foreigner, but the beats of that track are weak and boring. Get a remix done. ;)
on James Kumo - Kumomusic Vol 1
at 11:56AM on December 19th, 2007
Fluid is definitely the main track of this ep. Reminds me of old 808 State drum programming, when Gerald was still part of that bunch.
